Raigarh gas leak: Reports said seven workers were injured after being exposed to a gas leak at a paper mill in Raigarh.
Raipur: Even as 11 people were killed in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam on Thursday due to gas leak from a chemical plant, a similar incident was reported from Chhattisgarh as well. Reports said seven workers were injured after being exposed to a gas leak at a paper mill in Raigarh district.
“Seven workers of a paper mill have been hospitalised after being exposed to a gas leak, reportedly while cleaning a tank in the mill. Three of them are in critical condition,” Raigarh Superintendent of Police said.

It was reported that the three critical persons are being shifted to capital Raipur for treatment.
Raigarh SP Singh said that the paper mill owner did not inform the police, who got to know about the incident from the hospital where those exposed to the gas leak were admitted.
"The owner of the mill tried to hide the incident from us and did not inform police. A case will be registered," the SP said.
SP Singh and Collector Yashwant Kumar, meanwhile, met those who were affected by the gas leak, at the hospital.
The leak reportedly started last night when workers were undertaking cleaning process. The mill was shut for the past several weeks due to the lockdown and was expected to resume operations soon.
